Discover the Algarve by Road Trip!

The Algarve region has many beautiful beaches, monuments rich in history and historic sites that cannot be ignored. So why deprive yourself of all this by staying in a fixed place? Dare to visit the Algarve by road trip and stay in a luxurious and comfortable property at every stage of your journey.
The road trip is the ideal way to explore a country from top to bottom and discover its culture, its people and its most secret corners. Take your time and enjoy this beautiful region without sacrificing your comfort, as Villanovo has a wide choice of villas in the Algarve.

Begin in Sagres

Begin in Sagres

Begin your journey in Sagres, which is located at the far western tip of the Algarve and has barely 2,000 inhabitants. This small village of 35 km2 is close to the western end of the longest straight stretch of land in the world, 11,241 km, and ends near Jinjiang in the People's Republic of China. After renting or coming by car, the first thing you can do in Sagres after a few hours of travel is to go to Praia Do Beliche. This wide beach borders the vertiginous rocks of the region and offers an admirable landscape, ideal for relaxing for a few hours.
Near the fortress of Sagres is the famous Cap St. Vincent, the southernmost point in Europe. The scene of several naval battles, particularly between Spain and Great Britain in 1797, you can also see the lighthouse of Sagres and its fortress: remember to bring back enough to cover yourself, the wind is blowing hard!
In Sagres, stay in a warm property such as Villa Salema Vista in order to make the most of the beauties of the Algarve, including its luxury properties.

Lagos, a typical village

Lagos, a typical village

35 km away from Sagres, is found Lagos. This small typical village mainly lives from tourist activities. This former trading post where the Carthaginians (inhabitants of the city of Carthage in Tunisia) recruited Gallic mercenaries to fight the Romans during the Punic Wars is now very popular with travellers who enjoy strolling through its traditional alleys and its many rocky beaches, typical of the Algarve. Lagos is a small and quiet village, ideal for connecting with the local population and enjoying Portuguese cuisine in the many restaurants available. In Lagos, stay in Villa Andrea, with its swimming pool and modern decoration, Villa Andrea offers a superb view of the sea.
